Indesit Dishwasher Repair

Indesit dishwasher repair starts with what the machine shows you: an F code, flashing lights, water left in the tub, or dishes that come out dirty. Send us the code or a short video of the lights, plus the model from the label on the inside edge of the door. We read the code against Indesit's official list, give you the cost after diagnosis and before any part is changed, and repair models such as DFE 1B19, DFC 2B+16, DFO 3C23 and the slim DSFE 1B10.

  • Official F-codes explained
  • Cost before repair
  • 6-month repair warranty

Independent repair center for Indesit dishwashers outside the manufacturer's warranty. Tell us which program it stopped on and whether water is left inside.

Read this first

If water is leaking near the socket or you smell burning, switch the dishwasher off at the breaker and close the water tap. Never cut or shorten the inlet hose: on Indesit models with anti-flood protection it contains live electrical parts.

Before you book: 6 checks from Indesit's manuals

These checks come from Indesit's own manuals and need no tools. If one of them is the cause, you've saved a visit.

  • All lights flashing fast: On DFE 1B19, DFC 2B+16 and DIE 2B19, the sieve in the inlet hose is clogged. Close the tap, clean the sieve as the manual shows, then switch off and on.

  • Stopped with lights flashing: On older DFG 15B10, DSR 15B1 and DIF 16B1 models, switch off and on and start a new program. If it repeats, close the tap, unplug and book a check.

  • Filters: Clean the three-part filter once a month or every 30 cycles, and never run the machine without it. Leave the black wash-pump cover in place.

  • Drain hose height: Its end should sit 40 to 80 cm above the floor. Any lower, and water can siphon out and end the program early.

  • Tap and pressure: Open the tap fully and straighten the hose. Indesit specifies a water pressure of 0.05 to 1 MPa.

  • Door and power cuts: Opening the door for more than 4 seconds pauses a DFE program. After a power cut, DFE models need START/Pause again, and DIE 2B19 won't resume by itself, for safety.

Common Indesit dishwasher faults: pick your problem

Where the program stops matters: filling, washing, heating or draining. Causes run from most to least common, and none of them is a verdict on a part before testing.

Won't drain, water left in the tub (F03)

What you see

Dirty water stays in the bottom, the program stops early, or F03 shows on the display.

Likely causes

Usually a filter clogged with food. Then a kinked drain hose, a blocked sink trap or drain pipe, the wrong hose height, or the drain pump itself.

Safe to try

Switch off, clean the filter (leave the black pump cover in place), straighten the hose and check the sink connection.

Technician

The technician tests the drain pump and its power supply and clears the sump before replacing anything.

No water comes in, or all lights flash (F02, F06)

What you see

No filling sound, the program doesn't move on, F06 on the display, or all lights blinking fast on DFE 1B19 and DFC 2B+16.

Likely causes

A tap that isn't fully open, a kinked hose, low pressure or a clogged inlet-hose sieve. F02 points to the inlet valve, and F07 to the water flow meter.

Safe to try

Open the tap fully and straighten the hose. With the tap closed, clean the inlet-hose sieve as the manual shows.

Technician

The technician tests the inlet valve, the flow meter (turbine) and the anti-flood system on the inlet hose.

Water in the base, anti-flood activated (F01)

What you see

The dishwasher stops with F01, sometimes with water underneath.

Likely causes

A leak inside, from a hose, seal, pump or the tub, fills the base tray and trips the anti-flood system, which blocks the water supply.

Safe to try

Switch off, close the tap and wipe up any water. Don't keep restarting it.

Technician

The technician finds the leak, dries the base and tests the anti-flood float switch before the next run.

Program ends early (F15)

What you see

The cycle ends far too soon and the dishes stay dirty; display models may show F15.

Likely causes

Indesit's DFO 3T133 manual links F15 to a drain hose that's too low, so water siphons out, or to air in the water supply.

Safe to try

Raise the drain hose so its end sits 40 to 80 cm above the floor.

Technician

If the height is right, the technician checks the drain connection and the supply, and can fit an air-admittance valve.

Dishes not clean or covered in white film

What you see

Food left on plates, a white or gritty film on glasses, or streaks.

Likely causes

Poor loading, blocked spray arms, a dirty filter, a program that's too gentle, the wrong detergent, no salt or a hardness setting that's too low. Then the wash pump (F11) or the heating (F08, F10).

Safe to try

Clean the filter and spray arms (the upper arm unscrews, the lower one lifts off), refill salt and rinse aid, set the hardness and try a stronger program.

Technician

If results stay poor with the right settings, the technician checks the wash pump, the heater and the temperature sensor.

Not heating or stopping mid-cycle (F04, F08, F10)

What you see

Cold water, greasy or wet dishes, or a cycle that drags on and stops.

Likely causes

F04 is the temperature sensor, F08 means the water didn't heat up in time, and F10 is the heating element. Running without salt can also damage the heater.

Safe to try

Photograph the code and the program. If dishes are only wet, check the rinse aid first; plastic items stay wet on any program.

Technician

The technician measures the heater and the sensor and checks the heater relay on the board.

Won't start or controls act strangely (F09, F12, F13)

What you see

No lights, a program won't select, or a code returns after switching off.

Likely causes

Often the door isn't latched, was opened for more than 4 seconds, or there was a power cut. F09 is a software error, F12 a communication fault between the main board and the display, and F13 a main board fault.

Safe to try

Push the door until it clicks, switch off for about a minute and restart, using a wall socket without an extension lead.

Technician

The technician checks the supply, the connectors and any water on the board before deciding whether to repair or replace it.

White film or spots? Set salt, rinse aid and water hardness

White film, spots and streaks are usually a settings issue, not a broken part. These values come from Indesit's manuals.

  • First salt fill: Fill the salt reservoir with water, then add about 1 kg of dishwasher salt, never table or industrial salt.

  • Why salt matters: With the salt container empty, the water softener and the heating element can be damaged.

  • Salt light still on: It can stay lit for several cycles after a refill. That's normal.

  • Rinse aid: The dispenser holds about 110 ml. Too much leaves streaks or a bluish tint, too little leaves spots. Never pour it into the tub.

  • Water hardness (DSFE 1B10): Switch on and off, hold START/Pause for 5 seconds until it beeps, then switch on. The ON/OFF light flashes the level; set 1 to 5 with the program knob (factory setting 3).

Indesit dishwasher error codes: the official list

These meanings come from Indesit's official service site. Display models show F and a number. Models without a display light the same number in binary on four lights worth 1, 2, 4 and 8, so F03 is the 1 and 2 lights together. A code points the diagnosis in a direction but doesn't name the failed part, and older boards can differ.

F05 and F14 aren't on Indesit's official list. Which physical light is worth 1, 2, 4 or 8 varies by panel, so film the lights before switching off and send us the video. Indesit's site shows F08 with the same lights as F09, apparently a typo: by the binary rule, F08 is the 8 light on its own. “All lights flashing fast” isn't a code: on DFE 1B19, DFC 2B+16 and DIE 2B19 it means a clogged inlet-hose sieve.

  • Older models

DFG 15B10, the slim DSR 15B1 and the built-in DIF 16B1, repaired by model.

  • Built-in dishwashers

Not sold new in Egypt at the moment. DIE 2B19 won't resume by itself after a power cut, for safety.

What decides the cost of an Indesit dishwasher repair?

There's no fixed price for “the dishwasher stopped”: clearing a blocked filter is a different job from replacing a wash pump, a heater or a board.

  • Before the visit: The inspection and travel fee is confirmed when you book, including what you pay if you decide not to repair.

  • After diagnosis: The part and labor cost is given before any work starts.

  • Boards come last: F09, F12 and F13 point to the electronics, but connectors, water damage and loads are checked before any board is changed.

  • Repair or replace: For a major repair we weigh the cost against the dishwasher's age, condition and parts availability.

  • Inlet valve
  • Anti-flood inlet hose

Tips to keep an Indesit dishwasher working

  1. Clean the filters once a month or every 30 cycles, and never run the dishwasher without them.

  2. Use only dishwasher salt, rinse aid and dishwasher detergent; the wrong detergent foams and spoils the wash.

  3. Set the water hardness for your supply; too low a setting leaves white film.

  4. Never cut or shorten the inlet hose; on anti-flood models it has electrical parts inside.

  5. Load dishes so nothing blocks the spray arms, and check the arms turn freely.

  6. If a fault returns after a repair, photograph the code, keep the invoice and contact us.

Indesit dishwasher repair questions

What does F03 mean on an Indesit dishwasher?

F03 means the dishwasher couldn't drain, or draining took too long, according to Indesit's official code list. Clean the filters and check the drain hose and sink trap; if the code returns, the drain pump needs testing.

Why are all the lights flashing on my Indesit dishwasher?

On DFE 1B19, DIE 2B19 and DFC 2B+16, it means the sieve in the inlet hose is clogged: close the tap, clean it as the manual shows, then switch off and on. On older models such as DFG 15B10, switch off and on and restart; if it repeats, close the tap, unplug and book a check.

How do I read the code on a model without a display?

Indesit shows the same F number on four lights worth 1, 2, 4 and 8; add up the lit ones, so the lights worth 1 and 2 together make F03. Which physical light carries which value varies by panel, so send us a video rather than guessing.

How much salt goes in an Indesit dishwasher the first time?

Fill the salt reservoir with water first, then add about 1 kg of dishwasher salt, never table or industrial salt. The salt light can stay on for a few cycles afterwards.

Can I cut or shorten the inlet hose?

No. On models with anti-flood protection the inlet hose contains live electrical parts, and Indesit's manual says it must never be cut. A damaged or short hose is replaced as a complete part.

Are you Indesit's own service center?

No. We're an independent repair center for Indesit dishwashers outside the purchase warranty, not part of the manufacturer. If yours is still under warranty, contact the provider on the warranty card or the shop you bought it from.

Is the inspection paid, and when can you come?

The inspection and travel fee is confirmed when you book, before you commit. The appointment depends on your area and the visit schedule, and the repair cost comes after diagnosis and before any work.

What warranty do you give on the repair?

6 months on the repair performed. Its scope and terms are explained before you approve the work and shown on the invoice, separately from the manufacturer's purchase warranty.
