Indesit Control Board Repair

Indesit control board repair starts with a test, not a purchase. Told “the board has gone”? Wait before you buy one: a new Indesit board arrives unprogrammed and must be programmed for your model, or the washer shows F09 and won't run. And often the fault is a connector, pump or motor, not the board at all. We measure first, then tell you whether to repair the original board, replace it with programming, or fix another part.

  • Testing before replacing
  • Repair of the original board
  • Programming of new boards

Independent repair center for Indesit appliances. Send the code or a video of the lights, a photo of the appliance label, and a photo of the board if it's already out.

Never remove the board with the appliance plugged in, and don't touch its components right after unplugging: some capacitors stay charged. If you see burn marks or smell burning, switch off at the breaker and don't run the appliance again before inspection.

Is the fault really in the Indesit board?

UK Whitegoods, a British spare-parts site, says that in over 90% of cases where people suspect the board, the cause is something else. So we rule out the cheaper causes before touching it.

  • The power supply: A socket, extension lead, plug or breaker. A completely dead appliance is not proof of a failed board.

  • The loads: A shorted pump, a motor with worn brushes or a failed heater can raise a code mistaken for a board fault, and can burn the driving circuit on a new board if it isn't fixed first.

  • The connections: The connector between display and main board (F12 on washers, E6 on fridges), or water reaching the door-lock connector.

  • The settings: F09 after a board change usually means the board isn't programmed, not that it's faulty.

Signs of a control board fault in Indesit appliances

These symptoms make a technician suspect the board, but each has other causes to rule out by testing first.

Appliance completely dead

What you see

No light and no sound, or lights that flash on for a moment and go off.

Likely causes

No power reaching it, a fuse or the board's power circuit, or a loose connector. On washers, F12 can appear if the display isn't talking to the board.

Safe to try

Try another socket without an extension lead, and check the kitchen or bathroom breaker.

Technician

The technician measures the voltage reaching the board and the power circuit outputs before judging it.

Random lights, and cycles that won't select

What you see

All lights flashing, the cycle changing by itself, or the washer showing F09.

Likely causes

The settings file or software (F09), especially after a board change without programming, or a stuck button on the keypad.

Safe to try

Unplug for 2 minutes, plug back in and wait 30 seconds. If the board was changed recently, mention it when you book.

Technician

The technician runs the self-test if the model has one, and decides between programming and repair.

Motor or pump not running, with a code pointing to the board

What you see

The drum won't turn (F01 or F02) or the water won't drain (F11).

Likely causes

In the EVO II service manual, F01 means a shorted motor triac on the board, and F11 that the pump isn't getting power. But the motor or pump must be checked first, since either can burn the triac.

Safe to try

Don't keep restarting the appliance if there's a smell or a strange noise.

Technician

The technician measures the motor and pump first, then the board output that drives them.

Heating stopped because of a relay

What you see

Cold water, or the heater running nonstop: F07 or F08 on washers, F10 or F08 on dishwashers.

Likely causes

The heater relay on the board is stuck or not switching, or the heater itself has failed.

Safe to try

Photograph the code and note the cycle before unplugging.

Technician

The technician disconnects and measures the heater on its own, then tests the relay on the board.

Display glitching or buttons not responding

What you see

Missing digits, dim lighting, or buttons that need several presses.

Likely causes

The display board, the keypad, or the connector between display and main board (F12 on washers, E6 on fridges).

Safe to try

Don't press the display with anything sharp; clean it with a dry cloth while the appliance is unplugged.

Technician

The technician tells a display fault from a main board fault before choosing the part.

Board stopped working after a power cut

What you see

The appliance cut out with the power and never came back, or there are dark marks on the board.

Likely causes

A voltage spike or surge when the power returns, which technicians often see when power comes back hard while an appliance is running.

Safe to try

Unplug large appliances during a power cut, and plug them back in only once the supply is stable.

Technician

The technician finds the burned parts, judges whether repair is possible, and checks whether a load such as the pump or motor was damaged too.

Indesit board: repair or replace?

The key difference is programming. Indesit's service manual (EVO II generation) says the main board is always supplied unprogrammed as a spare part and must be programmed with the company's tools, such as a single-use smart card or PC software.

  • Repairing the original board: The program and settings stay intact, and only the damaged part (relay, triac, power circuit) is repaired. Best when the damage is limited and clear on testing.

  • A new board: It needs the same part number and programming for your exact model. Without it, the washer shows F09 or runs incorrectly.

  • A used board: It may be programmed for another model, so the part number and settings must match before fitting.

  • Before either option: Fix the load that burned the board (pump, motor or heater) first, or the next board burns for the same reason.

Indesit codes that point to the board

A code that mentions the board doesn't prove the board has failed. These are the codes that send a technician to the boards, from Indesit's official site and service manuals.

Indesit boards we repair, by appliance

Send a photo of the appliance label and, if the board is out, of the sticker on it (the part number). Generations differ even within one type of appliance.

  • Front-loading washers

EVO, EVO II and Arcadia boards and current models such as OMTWE, XWE, BWE and IWC, plus the display board on display models.

  • Washer-dryers

The same washing board, plus the drying circuits (F13, F15 and F19).

  • Dishwashers

The main and display boards on DFE, DFC, DFO and DSFE models, and older ones such as DFG.

  • Fridges and deep freezers

The control board on No Frost display models, and compressor boards on models listed with an inverter compressor, such as INU6012CEG.

  • Built-in ovens and microwaves

The control and timer board on electronic ovens, and the microwave board.

  • Ariston and Hotpoint

Many share the same board generations; compatibility is confirmed by part number.

Indesit display repair: control panel or TV?

The display on a washer, oven or fridge is a display board with its own faults, and we repair it along with the other boards. As for TVs: Indesit made televisions in its Italian factories decades ago, but no Indesit TVs are sold in Egypt today, and the current catalog is home appliances only.

  • Washer display: Missing digits, unresponsive buttons, or F12 (no communication between display and board).

  • Fridge display: E6 is a communication problem between the main board and the display; E1 to E5 are sensors.

  • Oven display: F and a number on Indesit electronic ovens means a software problem, according to the manual. Give the number when you book.

  • Microwave display: Err and a number means the same. Don't open the microwave yourself.

Indesit board repair cost: how is it set?

There's no single price for “board repair”. It's set after testing, once the damaged part and the appliance are known.

  • Board type: A washer main board, a display board, and a dishwasher or fridge board are all priced differently.

  • Extent of the damage: A relay or triac is not a power circuit, and neither is a board with water or fire damage.

  • Repair or new: A new board's price includes programming; a used one needs matching.

  • Related loads: If a pump, motor or heater caused the fault, its cost is added.

Board components we repair

Electronic components replaced when repairing Indesit appliance boards

Board repair means replacing the damaged part, not the whole board. We use components with the same specifications, and if a repair wouldn't be safe or reliable, we tell you the answer is a new programmed board.

  • Heater relay
  • Motor triac
  • Pump triac
  • Power circuit
  • Capacitors
  • Board fuse
  • Connectors and cables

How to protect Indesit control boards

  1. Unplug the washer and dishwasher during a power cut, and plug them back in once the supply is stable.

  2. If your voltage fluctuates a lot, use protection rated for the appliance, and ask a technician about the right rating before buying.

  3. Don't run the appliance with water leaking under it; water on connectors damages boards and door locks.

  4. Get a failed pump, motor or heater fixed quickly; a faulty load can burn the board circuit that drives it.

  5. Don't buy a used board without matching the part number and confirming its programming.

  6. Keep the appliance somewhere dry and ventilated; constant humidity affects the connections.

Indesit control board repair: your questions

Can an Indesit board be repaired, or does it have to be replaced?

Many can be repaired when the damage is in one part, such as a relay, a triac or the power circuit, and the repaired original stays programmed for your appliance. Replacement is needed when the damage is extensive or the board is too badly burned to repair safely.

Why did my Indesit washer show F09 after a board change?

Because a new Indesit board is supplied unprogrammed, according to Indesit's service manual, and must be programmed for the washer's model with the company's tools. F09 means a software or settings file error.

Can an Ariston board replace an Indesit board?

On some models, since they share board generations, but compatibility depends on the part number and programming, not appearance. The wrong board can damage the loads or itself.

How do I know the board is the faulty part?

Not from the code alone. A technician must first measure the supply, the loads (motor, pump, heater) and the connections. British spare-parts sites say most boards people suspect turn out to be fine.

Do you repair Indesit screens?

We repair the control displays on Indesit washers, ovens, fridges and microwaves as part of our board work. No Indesit TVs are sold in Egypt today; Indesit made televisions in Italy only in the past.

The power went off and came back, and now my washer won't work. Why?

The board's power circuit or a component may be damaged, or it could be a fuse or connector. Try another socket without an extension lead first; if it still won't start, get it inspected before buying a board.

How long does a board repair take?

It depends on the damage and component availability. If the board needs the workshop, we agree the time and give you a receipt before removing it.

What warranty do you give on a board repair?

6 months on the repair performed, with its scope and terms written on the invoice. It's separate from the manufacturer's purchase warranty.

Test your Indesit board before replacing it

Send the code or a video of the lights, a photo of the label and your area. We'll tell you whether it really is the board, and the most economical option, before any work.
